Hello. I’m Erik.
I am a pastor living in Cedar Rapids, IA with my wife and two kids. My passions include my faith, my family, cycling, and building stuff in my garage (Check out my DIY blog: www.betterwhenbuilt.com).
WHY I STARTED FAITH TO TREAD
I started Faith to Tread to chronicle my journey of faith and to write about topics that are important to me. The truth is I am struggling and discouraged because I hear few Christians speaking with humility and grace about the issues of our day. I am burdened to use my voice to point the church back to Scripture, back to our mission, and back to our God.
THE NAME FAITH TO TREAD
The name Faith to Tread is taken from Hab. 3:19:
GOD, the Lord, is my strength;
He makes my feet like the deer’s;
He make me tread on my high places.
This verse describes a faith forged through doubt (Hab. 1:1-2:1). A faith unshakeable, based not on circumstances, but on the person of God (Hab. 3:16-18). I know I am called to walk in faith as I deal with the problems and struggles of our day. I wanted the name of this blog to remind me and my readers that strength for our journey comes from God.
Thank you for reading, and I pray God uses this blog to encourage and challenge you.
